Muang District
Chang Kham Temple

Opposite the Nan National Museum is Chang Kham Temple. Its main features are the sculpted upper halves of elephants adorning around the Chedi, a Sukhothai influence. Here have been found stones with ancient Thai scripts relating the alliance between the kings of Nan and Sukhothai when Nan was still and independent state. An ancient golden Buddha is enshrined in the Vihara.
Ming Mueang Temple

The ubosot.s exterior is embellished with elegant stucco design in bas relief,while its interior adorned with mural paintings depicting Nan people.s way of life, painted by local artists.The City Pillar enshrined in the four-sided, Thaistyled pavilion in front of the Ubosot. This pillar is 3 Metres high, erected on carved guild wooden base, topped with metal four - faced Brahma, representing the 4 virtues of high ranking people.
Suan Tan Temple

Built in 1230, this temple features an old beautifully shaped Chedi and houses a huge bronze Buddha statue, Phra Chao Thong Thip, commissioned by a king of Chiang Mai in 1450. A grand celebration with fireworks takes place all day all night during the Songkran festival.
